They came together to perform music that can rattle the gray matter between your ears, bring back that time when we gave peace a chance, and perform a style of music that both rocks and rolls. They are a group of inspired songwriters, having contributed separately to many hit songs. This combination, along with all the experience they possess, creates an experience not to be forgotten.

Larry Joe Miller is a living breathing rockabilly and 60s musician. He started playing in bands during the late 50s in Texas. In 1962, he formed the group The TR-4. They released the single "Peter Rabbit" which soon became a regional hit. In 1964, they changed their name to The Thingies, the powerhouse band of a five-state area. In 1965, they toured Japan, playing on the Kimo Sakamoto show - the Ed Sullivan show of Japan. Returning to the states, their careers really took off, with the band playing in 1000-12,000 seat venues. In 1967, they toured from Kansas to Miami to Austin, blowing minds from the mid-west to the south and back again with their wild music and light show. In 1976, Larry moved to Florida; tired of the cold weather, he remembered the swinging land of sunshine from the 60s. Here he started his band Larry Joe Miller and the Rockabilly Rockets. LJM and the RRs became very successful, touring and playing in all the alternative clubs and landing LJ’s face on the cover of the Sun-Sentinel Showtime. Larry Joe became known as Mr. Rockabilly. Last year, he had a new CD released worldwide on the Collectables label, the label that showcases garage band legends. Aptly enough, it is entitled "The Thingies have Arrived".

Spencer Mallinson is a musician … a good musician … a musician’s musician. Spencer’s musical path started at the very young age of three. His hard-working father loved music and had a Big Band in England around WWII. Coming to America in the early 50s and starting a family in 1951, Spencer’s father would bring home instruments from the many musicians he knew for his son to play with. It took a long time for Spencer to finally choose the guitar. In 1965, guitar became his life. Spencer would practice so late into the night that he was often woken up by his mother in the wee hours, after falling asleep with his guitar still strapped on. He played in many local Florida bands in the late 60s. He then made a pilgrimage to England to try to become a successful musician. Spencer played there with Roxy Music and with Lake. Back in the States, he toured with Wayne Cochran and the CC Riders, The Hotlanta Band, and Blanco, among other groups. Spencer’s incredible guitar mastery proves that all those years of practice and playing really paid off, as he continues to amaze any audience lucky enough to hear him. He is currently writing songs for The Delusions’ upcoming release.

Bill Pitzele had his first taste of performing music for an audience with his Dad’s swing/dance band at the age of nine. During the early 60s, he played rock and roll in local South Florida bands, often backing major acts. Bill worked on recordings with The Ch-Lites and Elvin Bishop. During the mid-70s, he even contributed his share to the disco era by recording drum tracks for several South Florida studios. In the late 70s, he moved his drums to Dallas, where he played with Bobby Mills and the Thunderbolt Band, a 50s/Elvis revue. In Texas, Bill also worked with The Coasters, The Shirelles, Freddie Cannon, and Bo Diddly. Several years after returning home to South Florida, Bill returned to music as well. Upon joining Larry Joe and Spencer to form The Delusions, Bill traded in his full drum set for a pair of bongos. “The challenge is to make two small drums sound like five.”
That’s The Delusions. With their individual talents blended together, the audience is taken to new and wonderful level of musicianship. Their forte is the 50s –Rockabilly – and the goodtime 60s, but their talent is timeless.
